You have to frequently team up to get past not just puzzles, but enemies and bosses too. Sometimes the pair are separated and you have to play more in a stealth manner as Tepeu does not have the strength Majin does. The game mixes combat and puzzles quite well. He can learn new magical abilities as you play and these are not just used for fighting, but for puzzles as well. You never take direct control of him, but you can give him many different commands such as attack, follow, heal, and so on.
